Making his debut on Cocada Music, the prolific Brazilian Tha_Guts delivers one of the most dancing works from his discography, since 2018. "Fake Stone" EP is a work of three tracks: the title track, produced in collaboration with of the almost omnipresent producer from São Paulo, L_cio, then an original, "Santana's House", and finally, a remix of the same L_cio for "Fake Stone".
"Fake Stone" is a gem guided by the vocal that seems to be sung by a children's choir. The song gets momentum through an organic bass, full disco, and percussions that fill the ambiences of the background. In the final half, the transverse flute enters the melody, alternating the protagonism of the track with the sung sentence.
"Santana's House" follows the same style, with an additional: it is completely straight. A dancing House Music sentenced by a rich bed of organic elements. The Latin-style bass continues to be the conductor of the groove, added to the disco / funk guitar chords, 60's retro organ and cowbells that accentuate a refined touch to the beats of the song. The vocals, in Spanish by a female voice, are what give the Latin spice, so fond to Cocada's releases.
L_cio's remix for "Fake Stone" retains in part the original melodic structure, but replaces its percussive ensemble with a stronger syncopated electronic beat, connecting the track even more to the dance floor. There are also more melodic layers, guided by pianos reverberated in measure, and the vocals, which at a given moment, have their pitch drastically reduced, to the point of sounding super dragged, producing a slow hypnotic effect, which contrasts with all the dynamics of the beats.
